Team building and office politics go parallel. People have jealousy and ego within the team and they make sure that the others who are working on the same goal get distraction.

In many companies it has been noted and observed that some of the team members are not at all interested in the project but are interested in pulling each other down.

This competition has grown heavily and largely in many Asian countries, especially India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, China and Japan. In Western countries, people do understand one another and they try their best to accomplish a task by supporting each member of the team.

However, this is missing in corporate world of Asian countries.

Countries like South Africa and Australia have different scenario. They are towards racism which they do not allow anyone other than their own kind. The team leaders also make sure that whatever team building work is there, they should get one of their kinds.

This can affect the organization in a very great way, which can even lead to bankruptcy like many past companies have seen. At this stage a role of team leader is crucial. He or she can by various means keep the team united.
